What's for Dinner Spaghetti Carbonara

Spagetti Carbonara

Spaghetti Carbonara is one of my children's favorite recipes and it is so simple to make. First in a large pot boil water and salt. Choose your favorite pasta. I do not usually use spaghetti noodles for my children just because they are so messy. Cook pasta according to directions. In the last minute add 1/2 cup of defrosted peas. When pasta is finished cooking, drain and return pasta to pot. Do not put back on the burner. Add 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste and 6 strips of cooked and crumbled up bacon, then add two eggs. Believe me, the eggs will cook from the heat of the pasta, but if you add eggs first you will end up with scrambled eggs in your pasta. Now stir like crazy. Instead of bacon, you can use Canadian bacon, pancetta, or diced ham. Usually, we use diced ham because that makes it one less step in preparing this dish. From start to finish this dish takes less than 15 minutes to make.
